About me

Grüezi! I'm Laura Verellen, I have been a qualified hiking guide since autumn 2011. I speak English, German, French and Flemish, and in these languages I can offer you hikes in the medium mountain region or the low land. I like to introduce hiking enthusiasts to the natural as well as the cultural landscape by passing on my knowledge of flora, fauna, geology and local culture, rather than simply guiding my participants from A to B. But no fear, we won't overdo it.

What I love most is to walk on little known pathways through the fascinating mountain world with time to absorb, to wonder and enjoy. Perhaps the most important and most beautiful result of my guided walks is to notice every time how relaxed and calm my guests go home. This motivates and inspires me to keep looking for new experiences to visit, work out, plan and then to enjoy walking them together with others.

As a Belgian who has spent seven years in England and has been living in Zurich for almost twenty years now, I am well aware that in Switzerland the choice is so enormous that one hardly knows which mountain to choose first.
